Films: Raging Sharks (2005)
Alias: None
Type: Mutant
Location: Ocean
Height/Weight: That of average great whites.
Affiliation: Neutral
Summary: Sharks go on rampages in movies for a variety of reasons. Be it simple nature, overfishing, spirits at work, or anything else, we should probably take our role in the watery ecosystem a bit more seriously. But then there are those moments where the berserk sharks are the result of something completely out of our control.
History: At some point, two alien ships crashed into one another, resulting in catastrophic death and a capsule containing space crystals plummeting into the ocean. Naturally, a bunch of sharks got their teeth on the crystals, only for the rocks to amplify their aggression and cause them to attack the neighboring humans en masse. Now, the crystals must be disposed of and the sharks exterminated.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: After many sharks are killed, two aliens go down to the depths to recover their lost materials, and depart. The crisis is averted, though no one believes the people who saw the aliens. Probably for the best.
Powers/Abilities: None.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 4-Yeah yeah, we know, most of these sharks are nothing but stock footage. But hey, it sure beats having a bunch of CGI blobs going around the sea being boring. Besides, when the sharks DO start attacking beachgoers and the like, it's actually quite visceral with those life-size shark props tearing people to shreds. Still, about those aliens...
Trivia: -Anyone who's been paying attention throughout this decade will notice that the two aliens are exactly the ones seen in "Alien Hunter" and "Alien Lockdown". Who knew these two beings, completely different in dispositions and ferocity, could get along so well?
-Some of you might notice or not, but a portion of the stock footage is actually that of orcas, not sharks. Bit of a lousy shortcut there, movie.
